Angel Island - a distraction from everyday life
Whether you're a true nature lover or simply enjoy the thrill of an educational excursion, when you visit Angel Island you'll discover both natural wonders and a deep sense of history. In fact, I suggest making Angel Island a must-see when visiting San Francisco.
In the magnificent city of San Francisco, which has so much to offer visitors, it is almost impossible to find something that will make your trip truly special and unique. Angel Island is just like that. Wherever your interests lie, there is always something that will attract the attention of people of all ages, economic backgrounds and other walks of life. If you can't find something here that interests you, you should seriously rethink your interests.
For nature lovers there is a great interest in the life of plants, birds and other animals.

For those who prefer a more active holiday, there is plenty to have fun and enjoy on Angel Island. Firstly, there is a lot to offer on foot. There are even guided walking tours that offer safety numbers (great for first-time hikers) and information about the island and its rich history. If hiking isn't your thing, you can also rent bicycles on the island. With several routes of varying degrees of difficulty, even a beginner can enjoy a great ride around the island.
My favorite physical activity here is kayaking tours. For a reasonable price, you can book a kayak tour around the island. The tour includes equipment rental, your day guide and a picnic. This is a full day tour that takes you around the island. There are 2.5-hour tours if you're not too confident in kayaking or want time to enjoy other aspects of the island during your trip. The beauty of a trip to Angel Island is that there is no right or wrong way to spend the day.
For sun lovers, there are several beaches where you can bring a blanket and lie down with a good book to catch some rays. I don't recommend swimming from Angel Island because the water is not the cleanest or the calmest. Tides are dangerous and can change quickly. But if you love books and think you could use a beam or two, let the kids and the rest of the family ride their bikes, hike, travel, and do all the other great things within reach. You are the latest best seller on the beach.
All this and I haven't even touched on the rich history of Angel Island. There are many events planned throughout the year to introduce visitors to the rich history of this island. From the days of the Civil War to the Potomac Tours and Victorian Christmas, these are snapshots of the history of this great island. In addition to these events, the island hosts tram tours almost daily during the regular season, giving a brief overview of the island's history. This would be a great way to spend a day while visiting San Francisco.
